The other day Addie was watching Kendra get ready and she said, "You look just like Barbie."
"Thank you, I think," Kendra said.
"Wait," said Addie studying her even more closely and then seeming to arrive at a definite conclusion. "Yep. You have blue eyes. You're just like Barbie."
I, on the other hand, don't seem to garner comparable sentiment.
This evening as I was leaving the room after putting the kids to bed I heard my middle child sweetly say, "Daddy, why is your booty wider than the rest of you?"
Stunned and a little hurt I said "I beg your pardon???"
"Why is it whiter than the rest of your skin?"
Connor took over at this point and explained the lack of exposure to the sun because he heard her right the first time and knew she was using a generic form of "you." I merely sighed with relief and enjoyed my current status of being safe from any odes by Sir Mix-a-lot.
